Listening provides the ideas to pull from. Ideas and wants are not always easy to understand. Especially in a group setting when individuals can want different things. Understanding that simple concept establishes trust in the process. Trust cultivates progress.

Project conception

Placing the ideas on paper in a manner that all can visualize the project. Accurate line and perspective drawings provide the basis for all to understand and visualize the project.

This step allows for changes, adding any additional ideas or needs. One need can be that not everyone understands the concept as presented. The way the ideas are presented may need adjusted so the end product is understood by everyone prior to construction.

Restoration, remediation and period reproduction.

Restoration and reproduction of period structures and of structures components.

Architectural millwork , window sash and doors.

Interests

Understanding the end product defines the path there.

I have a penchant for wood ,metal and masonry. All mediums that can convey astounding beauty while evincing the grace of function.

For me , I see function as the essence of beauty. Tension, compression and shear.

There are no short cuts. There are latent qualities in every opertunity.

Square peg II is the name of my studio. The name is the essence of who I am. Design ,handiwork envisioned and methodically originated in my studio will leave with the fundamental structure of function -viable in use. So if interested! Please , come as you are.
